Enjoy the beautiful views on the JW Marriott’s Starr Pass Golf Course during the ACPA Foundation Golf Tournament. You may be fortunate enough to eyeball the desert’s wildlife like roadrunners, jackrabbits, lizards, snakes and scorpions…all friendly to golfers! The tournament will be a best ball shotgun start.
ACPA’s administration and Board of Directors continued a high level of activity throughout 2015 by hiring new employees, updating the strategic plan, working on the Highway Bill and support of its membership in marketing and technical services. The convention agenda includes an analysis of the leading manufacturer of plastic drainage pipe by Jay Gorman, who will build on the insightful presentation that he presented last year. Following Jay’s presentation, Allison Black of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) will present an economic forecast focusing on buried infrastructure.
Mr. Gorman, with Raymond James’ Industrial Sector, has over 15 years of corporate finance and capital markets experience working across a variety of industries including water, wastewater, industrial, energy, business services, food and beverage, agriculture, and consumer products. He has worked on a myriad of successful transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, partnerships and other strategic initiatives. He received an MBA from the Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt University and a BA in economics from the University of Kentucky. Mr. Gorman resides in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife and two children.
Dr. Alison Premo Black manages ARTBA’s economics staff and is responsible for over 75 studies examining national and state transportation funding and investment patterns, including the association’s annual modal forecast. Dr. Black completed her PhD in Economics at The George Washington University and holds an MA in International Economics and Latin American Studies from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
This is a main event where members recognize the achievements of their peers with presentations of the Frank J. Heger Award, Richard E. Barnes Award, and Chairman’s Safety Award. The Richard E. Barnes Award is the highest recognition of support and service to the industry presented to an individual for lifetime achievement.
Wind down the conference at the closing dinner and dance. The dinner will feature a special evening including the Annual Foundation Auction.
