What do you like most about working in the concrete pipe industry?
The people, the innovation and being able to contribute to building our neighborhoods and cities. I enjoy being part of a growing, fast-paced industry and am blessed to work with a remarkable team.

How did you get started in the industry?
I spent most of my career consulting with manufacturing companies about their full scope of regulatory compliance. One of the main laws of concern focused on stormwater runoff, permitting and training.

What’s your favorite thing about being a technical resource for engineers?
Empowering the engineering community with exceptional stormwater products. I also enjoy getting involved in the early design stages of a project and watching the design come to life.

What’s your most memorable project?
Projects differ from job to job, and they have all been innovative and exciting. The relationships built and the experience gained are priceless. With that said, one standout was the Hub Group project [Oak Brook, Ill.], which was part of a green initiative using our StormCapture detention system for stormwater harvesting and specifically focused on meeting DuPage County detention requirements.

If you were talking to a group of high school girls, what would you say to encourage them to become an engineer?
I would tell them to follow their dreams and know the value they bring to the companies they represent. It is an exciting and innovative industry where women are getting recognition.
