The Arkansas Chapter – ACPA partnered with Arkansas DOT (ArDOT) to conduct the 2017 Annual  Training Day in North Little Rock, AR on November 15, 2017. Personnel from Maintenance, Roadway, State Aid, Roadway, Bridge and Construction Divisions at ArDOT’s Headquarters attended the event, as did personnel from several Districts.

Personnel from Scurlock Industries, Forterra Building Products and ACPA provided Installation classes on pipe, precast structures, trenchless and Box culverts. They also presented Accelerated Precast Construction case studies.  

Emanuel Banks (Chief Engineer), David Henning (Construction Engineer) and Tony Sullivan (Assistant Chief Engineer) helped shape this training event. They also promoted it to ArDOT personnel, which produced great attendance. David Henning (Construction Engineer) and Michael Benson (Material Engineer) attended the training along with approximately 75 personnel.

The Arkansas Transit Center (North Little Rock) partners with ArDOT to provide a training facility at no cost during transportation focused training.

This is a demonstration of the comparative flammability of polypropylene pipe (PP), reinforced concrete pipe (RCP), and high density polyethylene pipe (HDPE). Dry hay is ignited in three 18 in. by 18 in. pipes and allowed to burn. This is an unedited test conducted on October 21, 2015.
